FREE. A kilometre of sand twenty minutes from the city, and consequently very crowded. SWIM BETWEEN THE RED AND YELLOW FLAGS - the rip at the southern end is famous enough to have a name, and lifeguards pull people out of it daily. UV IS THE REAL HAZARD HERE, not heat. The index passes 11 through summer and unprotected skin burns in about ten minutes. Hat, shirt and shade, not just water.
