Eighty kilometres of coast from Utah to Sword. THE BEACHES AND MOST MEMORIALS ARE FREE; the museums and batteries charge individually. Pointe du Hoc and the Longues battery are free and among the most affecting. A guided day is worth it here more than almost anywhere - the geography only makes sense explained.
