★★★☆☆ View & landmark
No admission charge for anyone. Parking or transport may still cost.
FREE. A cantilever bridge built without a single nut or bolt - entirely riveted - carrying something like 100,000 vehicles and 150,000 pedestrians a day. PHOTOGRAPHY OF THE BRIDGE IS OFFICIALLY PROHIBITED as it is designated a strategic structure; people are stopped. The flower market beneath it at dawn is extraordinary and photographing that is fine.

The planner warns of extreme heat in May; and hot in April, June, July; and wet in August. Outside those months it says nothing, which is the point — a warning that fires every day is one nobody reads.
