FREE to walk into. One of the very few forts in the world still lived in - about a quarter of the town's population is inside the walls, which is why it is called the living fort. THAT IS ALSO ITS PROBLEM: water from modern plumbing is undermining the foundations, and conservationists ask visitors to stay outside the walls rather than in fort guesthouses.
