South Ari holds one of the few year-round aggregations of juvenile whale sharks anywhere in the world, and they are seen while snorkelling rather than diving. NOTHING IS GUARANTEED and boats can search for hours. THE CODE OF CONDUCT MATTERS: no touching, no blocking the animal's path, keep three metres from the body and four from the tail. Too many boats crowd a single shark and reputable operators hang back.
