Marahau · Nelson, Abel Tasman & Marlborough · New Zealand
★★★★★ Beach & outdoors
No admission charge for anyone. Parking or transport may still cost.
Department of Conservation land is FREE to enter. New Zealand charges nothing to walk into any of its national parks. Golden beaches and granite headlands, and the most walked of the Great Walks. The clever way to do it is a water taxi up the coast and walk back, so you get the scenery without committing four days. TIDES MATTER - two crossings are only passable near low water and people get caught. Kayaking with seals is the other way to see it.
