FREE. 16km return and 1,200m of climbing, ending on a ridge with the lake and Aspiring behind - the photograph everyone queues for, and there is a genuine queue at the viewpoint at sunrise. IT CLOSES FOR LAMBING for about six weeks in spring. It is relentless and there is no water on the route.
