FREE. Tane Mahuta is the largest kauri alive - 51m tall, over 13m round, and somewhere between 1,200 and 2,500 years old. A five-minute boardwalk. CLEAN YOUR BOOTS AT THE STATION both ways: kauri dieback has no cure and is carried in soil. Guided night walks run from the local marae.
