A 36-hectare Dutch fort of 1663, UNESCO listed, and still a lived-in town rather than a monument - churches, warehouses, cafes and boutique hotels inside the ramparts. FREE to enter and walk. Individual museums inside charge. Walk the walls at sunset; the whole circuit takes about an hour.
