The highest railway station in Europe at 3,454m, reached through a tunnel bored inside the Eiger over sixteen years. THE MOST EXPENSIVE TICKET IN THIS ENTIRE PROJECT, by a distance. The Swiss Travel Pass gives only about a quarter off this one, unlike the half you get almost everywhere else - see finding 1. CHECK THE SUMMIT WEBCAM BEFORE BUYING. In cloud there is nothing to see and the ticket is not refundable for a bad view. ALTITUDE IS REAL HERE: you gain 2,900m in two hours and people faint, so move slowly at the top.
