FREE. The highest mountain in England at 978m, and six to seven hours return from Wasdale Head. THE SUMMIT IS A BOULDER FIELD AND NAVIGATION OFF IT IN CLOUD IS GENUINELY HARD - mountain rescue is called out here constantly, usually to people in trainers with a phone for a map. Carry a paper map and warm layers whatever the valley weather.
