The largest sand island in the world, UNESCO listed, with rainforest growing directly out of sand and freshwater lakes perched above sea level. 4WD ONLY - conventional cars cannot be driven here at all, and hire agreements forbid it. DINGOES ARE WILD AND HAVE ATTACKED CHILDREN: never walk alone, never feed them, keep children within arm's reach. Renamed to its Butchulla name in 2023.
