FREE to drive through. Coffee-growing hills at 1,500m, cool and green, and a distinct Kodava culture. Estate homestays are the way to do it. The Tibetan settlement at Bylakuppe nearby has one of the largest monasteries in India and requires a permit for foreign visitors.
