One of Asia's largest informal settlements, and a working industrial district turning over an enormous amount annually in recycling, leather and pottery. THIS IS SOMEBODY'S HOME: choose an operator that employs residents and returns a stated share of profits locally, and accept the no-photography rule absolutely. Done well it is genuinely educational; done badly it is voyeurism and people here know the difference.
