FREE. The old castle keep's foundations and the gardens of Edo Castle, in the middle of the city. CLOSED MONDAYS AND FRIDAYS, which catches people out. The palace itself is not open except on 2 January and the Emperor's birthday; the inner grounds tour is free but must be booked.
