FREE, and around 1,200 wild sika deer that have lived here for over a thousand years and were considered sacred messengers. They bow for the crackers sold at 200 yen a bundle - and then they mob you. THEY ARE WILD ANIMALS: they bite, butt and chase, and people are injured every year. Do not tease them by holding food back, and keep paper maps out of reach.
