What to know

120 species of moss under maples, and the most restricted garden in Kyoto. ENTRY IS BY ADVANCE RESERVATION ONLY and the allocation is small. Turning up on the day does not work. APPLICATION IS BY POSTCARD OR THE ONLINE FORM, weeks ahead, and BEFORE YOU SEE THE GARDEN YOU COPY OUT A SUTRA with brush and ink for half an hour. That is not optional and it is the reason the garden is quiet.
