FREE. UNESCO listed, built by the Cholas in 1010 and still in worship a thousand years later. The tower is 66m of granite in a region with no granite for miles, and how the capstone was raised is still argued about. Shoes must be removed. Socks are usually fine and shoe covers are sold at the gate.
