★★★★☆ Beach & outdoors
No admission charge for anyone. Parking or transport may still cost.
Two kilometres of canal-side path under cherry trees, named for a philosopher who walked it to work. Free. Spectacular for ten days in April and pleasant the rest of the year. It links Ginkaku-ji to Nanzen-ji, so it is a route as much as a destination.
