Legalised in 2009, and the single biggest change to who can visit the Maldives. A guesthouse on an inhabited island costs a tenth of a resort, reaches the same reefs on day trips, and gives you a country rather than a hotel. THIS IS AN INHABITED ISLAND, NOT A RESORT.
