Black iron sand under a headland, forty minutes west of the city, and free. THIS IS A DANGEROUS BEACH - heavy surf and rips, and it is the one the lifeguard television series was filmed on. SWIM BETWEEN THE FLAGS and only when patrolled, which is summer weekends and daily in the school holidays.
