The highest cable car station in Europe at 3,883m, with a glacier palace of ice tunnels carved inside it. Higher than Jungfraujoch and usually cheaper. CHECK THE SUMMIT WEBCAM BEFORE BUYING. In cloud there is nothing to see and the ticket is not refundable for a bad view. ALTITUDE AFFECTS PEOPLE HERE - this is nearly 4,000m and the walk from the lift to the viewing platform is enough to make you breathless. The Swiss Travel Pass changes this price - see finding 1. Check the discount for this specific lift before buying either.
