MOSTLY FREE. Over thirty temples inside the square moat, including Wat Chedi Luang, whose enormous ruined chedi was brought down by an earthquake in the sixteenth century. SEVERAL RUN 'MONK CHAT' SESSIONS where novices practise English and answer any question - free, genuine, and the best thing in the city. Shoulders and knees covered for everyone, shoes off inside. Sarongs are lent or hired at the gate and visitors are turned away daily for dress.
