FREE. The mirror lake - Aoraki and Mount Tasman reflected in dark, still water. IT ONLY WORKS AT DAWN ON A CALM CLEAR MORNING, which is not most mornings here. The brown colour is leached from the forest floor and is what makes the reflection work. A 90-minute loop. SANDFLIES are a genuine problem on the West Coast and in Fiordland - not a nuisance but a trip-shaping one. Cover up and take repellent.
